The Coginchaug Bicycle Club will be holding a 'Bring Your Bike To School Day' event on Saturday, May 9th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the CRHS parking lot. Bring your bike and helmet and for a suggested donation of $25.00, members of the Coginchaug Tour de Cure team will inspect your helmet and fit it properly, inspect your bicycle and perform many 'get ready to ride' maintenance adjustments: inflate your tires, clean and lube your chain and cables, check all bolts and quick-releases for proper tightness, check wheels for true and round and adjust brake and shifter cables as needed. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take on major repairs or remove and install parts. All proceeds will support Team Coginchaug riders in the Tour de Cure on June 14th. The rain date is May 16th! |

Coginchaug students who enjoy (or want to try) cycling are invited to join Peter Schulten, an 8th grade at Strong School, as he rides the Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program's (CCAP) Breakaway Benefit on April 25th. CCAP is a non-profit group that helps young riders by supporting school clubs and teams and creating regional racing opportunities for youth. Riders in the Breakaway Benefit can choose from two fully-supported scenic routes (25 or 60 miles) with a barbecue at the end. Registration for the Breakaway Benefit is free for riders 18 and under with fundraising encouraged, but not required. To join Peter on the ride or support him with a donation, go to his fundraising page and click 'Donate' or 'Ride' in order to register. |
