The Coginchaug Bicycle Center is a community workshop and learning space. Students interested in learning more about the basics of bicycle maintenance and repair should see Mr. Kurtz for more information.
Cannondale and Sugoi are offering generous discounts at participating bike shops for members of CCAP-affiliated clubs.
The Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program is holding a three-race mountain bike series. Check out the details below and let one of the advisors know if you are interested so we can arrange transportation.
Coginchaug students who enjoy (or want to try) cycling are invited to join Peter Schulten, an 8th grade at Strong School, as he rides the Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program's (CCAP) Breakaway Benefit on April 25th. CCAP is a non-profit group that helps young riders by supporting school clubs and teams and creating regional racing opportunities for youth. Riders in the Breakaway Benefit can choose from two fully-supported scenic routes (25 or 60 miles) with a barbecue at the end. Registration for the Breakaway Benefit is free for riders 18 and under with fundraising encouraged, but not required. To join Peter on the ride or support him with a donation, go to his fundraising page and click 'Donate' or 'Ride' in order to register. |
